WHAT WE DID THE LAST DAY?
"Saludos amigos". My spanish is progressing step by step and I'm so proud of it. On our fourth day on SO&ER we had a lot of fun and we made a story and a reflection about it. Do you want to know what we wrote?
STORY
As each Monday, at half past nine, my classmates and I go to the classroom 2.21 to learn about the subject “school organization and educational resources” with the teacher Linda. The previous Monday, the classroom was about how to do a reflection in a good way, in order to be able to pass the following tasks that we have to do in this subject. We were shown a Power Point and an explanation about this topic, so that, we can successfully apply the knowledges that we learnt in that classroom.
When we finally learnt the different types of reflection; which are descriptive, dialogic and critic, we were told to write our own reflection about an experience in which we taught someone something.
Once we finished, the teacher collected our reflections and mixed them to give us the reflection of another classmate. We had to point out all the types of reflections in the report with percentages, to finally mark them from zero to ten.
At the end of the class we were given back our reflections and we discovered if we did the task right or wrong.
REFLECTION
On
Monday, we were expected to start with our project, but the teacher
taught us how to do a reflection, because it is really important for
the course’s assignments an also for our future profession as
teachers. After her brief explanation, we put the theory into
practice because the best way learn how to do something is by doing
(Jonh Dewey). By this way we could also proved we could really
understand the teacher.
After
that, we corrected our classmates’ reflections so that could
practice for our future jobs and improve our understanding of the
matter and the three different types of reflections. Moreover, it is
useful because in the future we will have to teach our students how
to do it. We must be affective teachers and that means reflecting
about how our classes are going on and how the students develop
according to the different teaching strategies (methodologies).
When
our classmates gave us our corrected reflections back, we realized
that learning from our mistakes will help us to improve our
reflective skills. Besides, we proved how our deep intentions were or
not understood by our classmates because of the way we put them.
