The Last Reflection
In our last
week we have had to connect concepts from School Organization and Educational
resources because it is really important to get a Meaningful Learning and, by
doing this, we can reach this objective. Also, by doing this we are practicing
the dimension called relationship with learning because we are connecting
previous knowledge with new one.
We have
connected many concepts and we explaied them on Wednesday. However, there were
two concepts that were repeated a lot. That is the reason why we realize they
are, probably, the most important in Education.
The first
concept was Teacher- Students Relationships. We all know this is crucial but we
have found another dimension of the concept. Students are frommany different
backgrounds, some of them have disabilites, others can't understand the
language, the rest have problems such as stress or weakness in particular
subjects.
At the end,
we have been any time students and we know that feeling although sometimes we
forget it.
And what is
in the middle of this diversity? The teacher, that teacher who has to find the
solution to any problem, gets a learning environment, coordinates the rest of
the group's teachers, talks to parents... These are a lot of functions and,
finding that this relationships appears in each one of the dimensions that we
have explore (informal learning, technology, organizational learning and system
impact) we have realized how, our role as future teachers, will be so important
in a changing world because, after all, we are the model for future
generations.
The second
concept was Emerging Knowledge. This is quited related to the last mentioned
because it means that knowledge comes from the interaction between teachers and
students. However, it is much more because you also learn when you talk to your
parents, classmates, friends, grandparents or even buying in a shop. All of
these connections demonstrate the relationship beyond the classroom because
learning is everywhere (informal learning).
As we read
in the last document called "Schools as Learning Communities", it
depends on the concept that you have from learning. Some of us think that it is
just traditional education and learning by heart. Hopefully, this will be
change if we turn our selves into effective teachers.
Because of all
that we have reflected and learnt, we can conclude that we are here for
teaching the "new learning" where everything is interconnected. If we
realy want to get this aim, we must be consciuos of our job and be passionated
about it.
That's why
we are proud to say that our group, Teach Perfect, have found this motivation
and understood all these causes in SOyER. Thanks you very much Linda for giving
us a new perspective of Education.
